COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A woman arrested after the dragging death of a Colorado Springs tow truck driver has made her first court appearance.

On Wednesday, a judge advised 32-year-old Detra Dione Farries she could face a manslaughter charge after the death of 35-year-old Allen Rose on Feb. 23. Prosecutors have said they will announce any formal charges next week.

Police say Rose was trying to tow an illegally parked SUV when it drove away. Investigators say Rose was chasing the SUV when he got caught in a towing cable attached to the vehicle and was dragged for more than a mile.

Relatives have said Farries wasn’t aware someone was being towed from the vehicle.

Farries is free on $50,000 bond.
