A storm system out of the southwest is making its way to Colorado where it will bring widespread snow, including a chance in Denver.
Snow will spread from southern Colorado to the north today and Denver could see periods of moderate snowfall until about 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Heavier snow is expected to remain in the southern mountains and southeastern Colorado.
Snow is expected in Park County, the southern Foothills and the Palmer Divide area.
Tonight’s low should bottom out at about 17 degrees, the weather service said. Flurries should continue overnight in Denver, new some accumulation should be less than an inch.
On Tuesday snow is likely in Denver before 11 a.m., the weather service reports. The high temperature on Tuesday should hit about 35 degrees under mostly cloudy skies and snow accumulation should be less than an inch.
In the mountains up to 10 inches of new snow is expected in some areas by Tuesday night, the weather service said. The southern foothills and South Park should see between 6 and 10 inches of snow. Middle Park and North Park could see between 2 and 4 inches of snow, with up to 5 inches in some areas of the Eastern Plains.
Wednesday in Denver, skies should be mostly sunny with a high temperature of about 49 degrees.
