Crews this afternoon continue battling a 600-acre, man-made wildfire in the Lefthand Canyon off-highway vehicle area eight miles northwest of Boulder.
About 150 firefighters are building and securing a hand line around the fire with air tankers and two helicopters standing by to assist.
Steep terrain and the absence of road access are making containing the remaining 40 percent of the blaze more difficult.
Grasses and ponderosa pines are fueling the fire, which started around 10:35 a.m. Friday.
The Lefthand OHV Area remains closed, though Lefthand Canyon Drive is open to limited traffic.
