The coffers of Weld County grew by $3.8 million earlier this week.
Weld County Commissioners conducted an auction of oil and gas leases within the county at its Monday morning meeting and accepted 13 bids on parcels for a record total of $3.8 million. The previous high, Commissioner Sean Conway said, was this time a year ago when the leases brought $2.5 million. The county conducts lease auctions twice yearly.
