BRIGHTON, Colo.—A 29-year-old man has been convicted of shooting and killing his wife and then setting fire to their suburban home.
The Denver Post reports that an Adams County jury Friday convicted Charles David Fisher III of shooting 30-year-old Belinda Fisher 18 times last July. Jurors convicted him of second-degree murder and first-degree arson.
Fisher faces from 16 to 48 years in prison for the murder conviction and four to 24 years for arson when he’s sentenced in May.
Police say they found Belinda Fisher dead when they responded to the home fire in Thornton. They say Fisher went to the police department and told officers that he shot his wife after they returned home from a movie and also admitted to starting the fire.
He is a former Marine reservist.
