Sunny conditions are expected statewide today, but the sunshine won’t last as cooler temperatures and precipitation move into the mountains and the southwest.
A system expected to move in tonight could bring 5 to 10 inches of snow to the Grand Junction area, according to the National Weather Service.
Most of the snowfall is expected to happen between midnight tonight and midnight on Sunday.
That same system is expected to move into the mountain areas tonight and bring with it 2 to 4 inches of snow with an overnight low 25 degrees.
Snow will continue to fall in the mountains throughout the day tomorrow with a high around 40 degrees and 1 to 3 inches of new snow.
The metro area will be mostly sunny today with a high of 58 degrees and little cloud cover.
There is a slight chance of precipitation tomorrow, with a high around 55 degrees.
