DENVER—The Colorado Rockies’ season is under way.
The Rockies’ opening day game Friday afternoon at Coors Field was sold out, but some lucky fans were able to get low-price Rockpile tickets that went on sale Friday morning. Some camped out in tents to secure a spot in line.
The Rockies opened the season against the Arizona Diamondbacks in a stadium with $2.5 million in updates, including a new bar and improvements to restaurants and concession stands. Team co-owner Dick Monfort told The Denver Post the price of some concessions will rise by 25 to 50 cents.
Arizona beat the Rockies 7-6 in 11 innings Friday.
