Getting your player ready...

At Anthem Ranch, Del Webb’s fast-selling retirement community east of Boulder, residents get lots of community events every year – but their overwhelming favorite is tonight, when resident Jerry Moskowitz walks into the spotlight and sings his Sinatra-esque repertoire that brings a piece of the Las Vegas Strip to Colorado. If you move fast today (there are only 50 tickets for outsiders) you can be there for Vintage Vegas…you can roll some craps, enjoy the beverage fare, and hear Moskowitz’s ballads and shtick.

It’s not just Vegas-style. “He sounds a lot like Frank Sinatra,” says Nathan Freeman, who’ll be on hand today with other reps at Anthem Ranch’s information center to hand out those remaining tickets – and to show you some single-family ranch models that are luring buyers out of their older neighborhoods – over 700 since Anthem Ranch opened, the most recent this week. They’re a couple from Louisville, buying a ‘Copper’ ranch with hardwood floors and granite tops, with a full-walk-out basement and deck that will look across to the Indian Peaks, just $385,000. (She’s retired; however, like 35% of Anthem residents, he’s still commuting to work in Boulder).

Anthem Ranch is the perfect place for an annual Vegas show, Freeman adds. It was Del Webb that built the Flamingo Hotel, Vegas’ first big Strip casino, in the 1940s – and has always kept a blending of space and excitement that Anthem Ranch residents like. During your visit you can tour Anthem’s sharp looking Aspen Lodge community center with indoor/outdoor pools, fitness gear, and club rooms; wrapped by 48 miles of trails (monthly HOA fee is just $160); and some new sites where you could get your own ranch-view of the Flatirons.

You can tour a home ready for move-in now – an ‘Arapahoe’ with full basement and a deck view, $328,890. “This is the season to be doing this, when it’s the most favorable to put your old home on the market,” Freeman says. Anthem Ranch’s sales reps are experts at seeing buyers through the transition, he notes — nine out of ten have a house they have to sell, usually a much smoother process than anybody imagines up front. They’ll help determine what your home is worth and what you can expect as time-on-the-market.

And if you call this morning, they’ll fix you up with a pair of those tickets for tonight’s Vintage Vegas (it runs 5:30-8:30 p.m.). Take I-25 north just past 470 to Highway 7, then west three miles to Lowell, and turn south to the first right on Anthem Ranch Road, two blocks to the models. Or from Broomfield, take Lowell north.
