A 28-year-old Westminster woman was sentenced to community service and fined $300 this morning after pleading guilty to careless driving in connection with an accident that killed an 85-year-old pedestrian in Gunbarrel last June.

Kathryn Wulliman, who initially was not charged in the June 2 collision, was ticketed Oct. 19 with careless driving resulting in death. She pleaded guilty to an amended careless driving charge this morning and was sentenced to 240 hours of community service.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, Dorothy Hoffins, of Longmont, was crossing Lookout Road at its intersection with 79th Street around 3:30 p.m.that day when she was struck by Wulliman, who was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima.

Wulliman told investigators that she was entering data into her windshield-mounted GPS device before she hit Hoffins.
