A freshman at the University of Northern Colorado remains in the hospital today, after he jumped off a second-story fraternity house balcony early Saturday morning.
The student, identified as Ross Higuchi, 19, was in the intensive care unit at North Colorado Medical Center, but his condition has not been released. Police said he had serious head and body injuries.
Greeley police were called to the Delta Tau Delta house, at the corner of 11th Avenue and 16th Street, at about 1:20 a.m. Saturday. They found Higuchi lying on the ground, unconscious.
Greeley police spokesman Sgt. Joe Tymkowych said Higuchi may have jumped off the balcony intentionally after he got into an argument with other fraternity members over some items he damaged in the house.
Tymkowych said it doesn’t appear there will be any charges filed in the case at this time, although Higuchi had been consuming alcohol, and he was under the legal age limit.
