Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper says any job is a good job after attending hiring day at a McDonald’s restaurant in Denver.

The governor stopped by a downtown McDonald’s filled with job applicants Tuesday as the chain held a “national hiring day” to find new employees.

About 30 people applied for about three positions at the restaurant he attended. Most pay the minimum wage of $7.36 an hour.

Hickenlooper says they may not be the high-paying jobs he’s promised to help create, but he says everyone has to start somewhere.

Franchise owner Tom Carlson said managers can earn up to $60,000 in wages and bonuses if they stick with the company The fast-food giant says it has 50,000 jobs to fill nationwide.
