A Colorado Springs man is accused of murder in the April 15 death of his 3-month-old son at an apartment complex on the city’s north side.
James E. Pierce, 19, was booked into El Paso County jail on Monday, after an autospy found that his son Jayden Pierce was beaten to death, Colorado Springs said in a written news release.
In their first announcement related to this case, police today said Jayden was unresponsive when officers responded about 8:45 a.m. April 15 to a 911 call at an apartment in the 1600 block of East Woodmen Road, police said.
Efforts to revive the boy were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead less than an hour later at Memorial Hospital Central.
