PUEBLO, Colo.—Deputies, firefighters and other authorities in Pueblo are staging an exercise to test their ability to handle emergencies at the Pueblo Chemical Depot, where the Army stores obsolete chemical weapons, and at the state fairgrounds in Pueblo.
The exercise is scheduled for Wednesday from about 8:30 a.m. untill 3 p.m.
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says residents may see emergency vehicles around the depot and fairgrounds as well as hear emergency radio communications, outdoor warning alerts and a radio alert system.
Participants also will include personnel from the Colorado State Patrol, hospitals, an ambulance service, schools, the city-county health department, the Red Cross and others.
