Mimi Roberson, president and chief executive of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center, is the recipient of the 2011 Athena Award given by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce.

An attorney who practiced law for 11 years before turning to hospital administration, Roberson accepted the award at a dinner that also included the presentation of a Florence Caldwell Achievement Scholarship to Kayla Sandoval. The four-year grant is given by the Colorado School of Mines.

“It’s important to recognize female role models who exemplify leadership and excellence as a way of bringing visibility to female achievement and inspiring others,” observed Donna Evans, the chamber’s president and CEO.

Roberson, who is also the chief executive for Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at P/SL, has held leadership positions in dozens of organizations, including the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of American Hospitals, Judi’s House, the American Heart Association, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Colorado Children’s Campaign and Samaritan Institute.

The Vancouver-based designer will introduce her new JAC collection at the Nov. 1 luncheon that Kathy Crapo is chairing at the Marriott City Center. Jill Behr is installed as president of the Denver Center Alliance at a luncheon taking place Thursday at Palazzo Verdi in Greenwood Village. . . . Lee Earnhart, owner of Chambers Wine & Liquors and co-chair of the Legends Golf Tournament that benefits Volunteers of America, will again celebrate his birthday by riding his bicycle from Denver to Lake Powell.
