Today. This is opening weekend of a Lego store at Park Meadows Mall and that means free, interactive fun for kids and Lego lovers of all ages. Drop by the store to work side-by-side with a master Lego builder who plans to construct an 8-foot Lego replica of Yoda from “Star Wars.” There also are prizes and giveaways from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. 8401 Park Meadows Center Drive, Lone Tree.

Imaginations take flight

Today and Sunday. The Stapleton Discovery Center kick-starts a season of free family events this weekend with “It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane!” a live animal presentation at 11 a.m. today from Hawk Quest and Bluff Lake Nature Preserve, and “Skins, Skulls and Parts, Oh My!” a hands-on lesson at noon on Sunday about animals and the environment along the nearby Sand Creek Regional Greenway. 7706 Martin Luther King Blvd.— Sheba R.
