High winds and waves forced state park rangers to temporarily call off the search for former mayoral candidate Mitch Christiansen, whose boat overturned in similar weather on Elevenmile Reservoir last weekend.
Christiansen’s wife, Susan, was found dead at the east end of the reservoir on Sunday, near a capsized boat.
The couple is believed to have gone out on the reservoir Saturday for a fishing competition.
The search was suspended just before 1:30 Monday afternoon because waves were so high that sonar tools wouldn’t work properly.
