COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The family of former Colorado Springs mayoral candidate Mitch Christiansen and his wife plan a service for the two even though park rangers haven’t found the husband’s body in the reservoir where the couple’s boat was found.
Rangers found the body of 62-year-old Susan Christiansen at Elevenmile Reservoir Sunday. They continue to look for a second missing boater at the reservoir west of Colorado Springs.
Authorities haven’t identified the missing person, but The Gazette reports the couple’s family has announced a celebration of life for the Christiansens on Tuesday. The two were last seen Saturday evening while apparently participating in a fishing tournament.
State Parks spokeswoman Debbie Frazier says rough weather forced several boaters to shore. The search for Mitch Christiansen was temporarily suspended this week by bad weather.
