FORT CARSON, Colo.—Twenty-two names have been added to a memorial at Fort Carson for fallen soldiers.
A ceremony was held Thursday at the Army post outside Colorado Springs to mark the addition. The Gazette reports that the names of 21 soldiers killed since April 2010 were engraved in a nine-stone monument near Fort Carson’s main gate.
The name of a 10th Special Forces soldier who died in 2005 was also added to the Fort Carson Mountain Post Warrior Memorial.
Brig. Gen. James Doty says the soldiers played a valuable role in establishing partnerships between Iraq and Afghanistan.
Bagpipes played as soldiers performed a roll-call salute to those honored.
