A Denver man is recovering today after falling almost 30 feet in a climbing accident in Boulder County.
At 12:40 p.m. crews responded to reports of a fallen climber in an area known as the Whale’s Tail in Eldorado State Canyon Park, according to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
Colin Gregg, 34 of Denver, fell after his rope came untied from his harness.
The Rocky Mountain Rescue Group conducted a technical rescue. Gregg was rescued from the area at 2:05 p.m. and taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The Rocky Mountain Fire Department, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, and Eldorado Canyon State Park rangers also responded to the rescue.
