COLORADO SPRINGS—Linnae Harper, Taya Reimer and Kaela Davis headline the U.S. women’s basketball 16-under team that will compete in the FIBA Americas tournament next month.

The 12-person team will play from June 13-18 in Merida, Mexico, beginning with a contest against Brazil. The top three teams in that tournament will earn automatic berths to next year’s under-17 World Championship.

The team will be coached by Jill Rankin Schneider, who was a four-time medalist for the U.S. and is a member of the women’s basketball hall of fame. She was co-captain of the 1980 Olympic team that didn’t compete because of the U.S. boycott of the Moscow games.

The Americans won the inaugural title in 2009.
