Officials are investigating the cause of a suspicious fire that burned four vehicles in a Colorado State University parking lot this morning.

At 2:24 a.m. firefighters responded to a report of smoke, flames and explosions from a vehicle parked near the CSU Housing Service Center at 1624 W. Plum St., according to a news release form the Poudre Fire Authority.

Crews discovered two vehicles burning, the flames threatening two other buildings and a large natural gas lines.

Firefighters contained the flames from spreading to the buildings and the gas line, but two vehicles were destroyed and two were moderately damaged.

Firefighters and the CSU Police Department are working to determine the cause of the fire.
