HOUSTON — An aide says wounded U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords might be released from her rehabilitation hospital in Houston this month.
Chief of staff Pia Carusone said the Arizona congresswoman may leave TIRR Memorial Hermann this month or in early July.
Giffords’ husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, has said she would continue outpatient therapy in Houston upon her release.
Giffords was shot in the head at a meet-and-greet event with constituents in Tucson on Jan. 8. Six people were killed in the shooting rampage, and 12 others were wounded.
