AURORA, Colo.—A fire has destroyed some units and damaged others in an Aurora apartment building, displacing several residents and disrupting water and gas service.

Fire officials say no one was injured in Monday’s fire, but three units were destroyed. Investigators say a pan left on a stove caused the fire.

The Red Cross says seven apartment units have been deemed uninhabitable. The Red Cross has opened a shelter at South Middle School for people displaced by the fire and others having problems with water and gas outages.

Fire officials say the fire caused about a quarter million dollars in damage.
