DENVER—Colorado gaming regulators are promising to release details on the legal advice they received before granting a 5 percent tax break to the casino industry.

Commission vice chairman Philip Baca says the commission wants to explain the reasons for the tax breaks after Gov. John Hickenhooper requested the information.

Hickenlooper has said the decision is troubling because it could slash millions in annual funding for community colleges and other groups that rely on gaming-tax revenue. According to the Denver Post, Hickenlooper is looking for ways to overturn the tax cut.
