The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent inmate suicide that occurred in its Detentions Facility Monday afternoon.

Facility workers found Mack Pete Warren, 24, of Denver hanging from a bed sheet inside his cell about 2:23 p.m., according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Staff members attempting to give Warren first aid, but it was too late.

Aurora police arrested Warren Saturday on suspicion of second-degree burglary and violation of a restraining order. Warren spent part of Saturday in the Aurora City Jail and moved to the County Sheriff’s Office Detentions Facility Sunday. He was being held on $100,000 bond.

The Arapahoe County sheriff and coroner are continuing to investigate the death.
