Guadalupe Bastida, 48, was sentenced to 371 days in jail Monday for helping an allegedly drunk driver flee the scene of a fatal accident in January.
District Attorney spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough said a judge originally sentenced Bastida to more than 500 days in jail but gave Bastida credit for time already served.
Bastida pleaded guilty last month to one count of aiding escape.
Prosecutors said Bastida helped in the escape of Norma Vera-Nolasco, 32, who was driving drunk when she hit 21-year-old Jose Medina near the intersection of 9th Avenue and Lincoln Street, killing him and fleeing the scene. Vera-Nolasco pleaded guilty last month to vehicular homicide and faces up to 12 years in prison. She will be sentenced in the fall.
Also involved in the incident were Yolanda Bastida-Nolasco, 44, who also pleaded guilty last month to aiding escape, and Eliu Montes-Garcia, 18, who pleaded not guilty to leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, vehicular homicide and accessory to crime.
