Chatfield State Park’s swim beach re-opened today, after unsafe levels of bacteria forced the beach to close Wednesday morning.

Water tests showed that the levels of E. coli bacteria in the water had returned to normal after a spike earlier this week, according to a news release from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

The increase in bacteria was likely cause by recent heavy rains and high temperatures.

The beach, located in Littleton, is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Labor Day.
