PALISADE, Colo.—The town of Palisade is scheduled to hold a hearing on a protest challenging a petition that would ask voters whether to ban medical marijuana centers.

The hearing to be held Tuesday is based on a protest aimed at countering those who say such businesses have triggered an increase in crime and target teenagers.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ) says Palisade residents Jacob and Dominica Steele submitted petitions in June that would create a ballot measure seeking to prohibit medical marijuana centers from operating in Palisade.
