Detectives with the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office are investigating several burglaries right now, all of which have taken place over the past month.
Those crimes range from items stolen while a house was being painted to burglaries at occupied homes in Beaver Creek to taking money from an ATM on Vail Mountain.
Police have arrested a suspect in the home break-ins, and one of the house painters has been charged in that crime.
But police are still looking for whoever broke into the Vail Mountain ATM and believe it may be the same person who broke into Colorado Mountain College last week, broke into the safe and took an undisclosed amount of cash. Detective Mike McWilliam said the method of theft is the same in both crimes — using a portable grinder to break into the cash box.
