Denver’s hot streak snapped, thanks to heavy clouds and sporadic rain Tuesday afternoon, making it the first day in more than two weeks that the city’s official monitor at Denver International Airport failed to reach 90 degrees.
Denver’s 18 straight days of high temperatures of 90 degrees or more had tied 1901 and 1874 for the second- longest such streak. The record was set in 2008, when the city had 24 days in the 90s. Tuesday’s high was 83 degrees at 2:27 p.m. The average temperature for the date is 88 degrees.
