Smart Balance said Wednesday that it purchased the owner of Glutino Food Group, a leading maker of gluten-free foods, for $66.3 million
Some of Glutino’s operations will move to Boulder, a spokeswoman said. Paramus, N.J.-based Smart Balance makes buttery spreads and other foods. Its chief executive and Earth Balance brand are in Boulder.
Smart Balance bought Importations, which owns Quebec-based Glutino, from Claridge, a Canadian investment firm.
