The Colorado attorney general’s office warned customers Thursday to be aware of firms charging upfront fees in return for assistance in recovering restitution from companies sued by the AG’s office.

Attorney General John Suthers issued the warning after consumers asked the attorney general’s office about Denver-based RMI Associates. Suthers said RMI is offering to help the public recover restitution associated with the lawsuit filed by the attorney general and the Federal Trade Commission against Dalbey Education Institute.
