A spectacular three-car crash on North Wadsworth Boulevard near Sixth Avenue in Lakewood sent several people to the hospital, but none of them were hurt seriously this afternoon, police said.
A woman driving a Volvo exited off Sixth Avenue onto Wadsworth and immediately tried to cross two other northbound lanes of traffic, said Lakewood police spokesman Ty Countryman.
She collided with a pickup truck, causing her to hit a median and flip onto her roof in the southbound lanes, where the Volvo was immediately hit by a southbound car, he said.
The woman, whose name was no immediately available, was cited in the crash, Countryman said. The intersection was closed for about two hours, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
