Mario Gonzales, the man accused of failing to control two vicious dogs that chased a mail carrier and bit a police officer, appeared in Edgewater municipal court Tuesday, where, as part of a plea agreement, he pleaded no contest to two counts of owning a vicious dog.
Two counts of animals running at large and two counts of no rabies tags were dismissed, Edgewater police said. Gonzales was fined $780, and a hearing was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Aug. 23 to determine the fate of a surviving pit bull named Spooky.
