Starting Sunday, late-night travel on Interstate 70 between Havana and Quebec Streets will be detoured as an old bridge is demolished.
For eight days, both east- and westbound lanes of I-70 will be closed after 10 p.m. Crews will be working to remove the old Stapleton Airport runway service road that ran over the highway. The demolition is part of the $47.2 million improvement project to build a full interchange connecting Central Park Boulevard to both I-70 and I-270.
One lane of eastbound I-270 between Quebec and I-70 will be closed after 8 p.m. starting Sunday.
Major dealys are possible, and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, according to a Colorado Department Of Transportation release.
