DENVER—Some stores in Colorado are joining a national recall of about 60,000 pounds of ground beef because the product may be contaminated with E. coli.
According to KDVR-TV ( ), Colorado Sam’s Club stores began contacting members who may have recently purchased the beef.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture says National Beef Packing Co. of Dodge City has recalled about 60,000 pounds of ground beef because of E. coli concerns.
E. coli can cause bloody diarrhea and dehydration.
The recall includes ground beef chubs produced on July 23, 2011, with a freeze date of Aug. 12, and product codes 483, 684, 782, 785, 787. Also recalled are ground beef chubs produced on July 25, 2011l, with a freeze date of Aug 14., bearing product codes 431, 471, 494.
