Express Toll’s 800,000 transponder customers soon will be asked to swap their plastic transponders for a peel-and-stick windshield decal in a campaign later this year.

The decals are for use on the E-470 and Northwest Parkway toll roads and Interstate 25 express lanes. The peel-and-stick windshield tag replaces the bulkier hard-case transponder.

The new toll-recording device is similar to an oil-change sticker.

The sticker tags will be issued to new Express Toll customers, and those motorists with the old transponders can swap them for the new tags, said E-470 spokeswoman Jo Ellen Snell. Jeffrey Leib, The Denver Post
