
Kids Running America fall program
Deadline Sept. 7: Registration is open for the incremental running program designed for kids to train for a 26.2-mile marathon. Participants finish their final mile through Elitch Gardens on Oct. 8. Registration is $35 and includes the 10- to 12-week program, a mileage-tracking system on the website, training incentives, entry into the Final Mile Event, race-day goodie bag, finisher’s medal, T-shirt and certificate of completion. MEND 7-13 Program
Sept. 13: Denver YMCA has received a grant from the Colorado Health Foundation for a new program to promote healthy eating and living for ages 7-13. MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do it) is a free 10-week program. Sessions are held twice a week for two hours with the child and their family. S.W. Colorado 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Red Rocks
Sept. 11: Firefighters and members of the community are invited to this climb equaling the distance of 110 stories, the height of the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers.
