Rich Hutchins was not at all happy to hear that Tri-State Tools, 807 Main St., would be closing its doors at the end of the month.

In the store last week looking for a carbide grinder bit — Hutchins is in the concrete business — co-owner Duane McManigal pointed to a display and told Hutchins that what he saw was all the store had left.

McManigal and his business partner, Don Judy, stopped buying more inventory after they decided to close the store.

“I’m sorry to hear that. I wish I’d have known,” said Hutchins. “Who else carries something like this?”

McManigal said for finding pure carbide grinder bits, the closest store he could think that might stock them was in Boulder.
