ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—The Air Force is planning to answer questions and hear concerns from New Mexicans about the possible environmental impact of low-altitude training flights. The military is planning to hold a hearing Monday night in Albuquerque.
KOB-TV ( ) reports the Air Force wants to conduct flights that would originate at Cannon Air Force Base near Clovis and fly over northern New Mexico and southern Colorado.
There have been concerns the flights could scare livestock and cause avalanches.
A recent draft environmental report conducted by the Air Force and released earlier this month said the flights would have no significant effects.
The draft environmental report is available through November 5.
