Dustin Jefferson of Bozeman, Mont., was the pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle early this morning on Interstate 25, authorities said today.

Jefferson, 25, came to Denver from Montana for an Ultimate Fighting Championship event.

He left the Pepsi Center and headed for the VQ Hotel near Mile High Stadium, crossing the highway.

He was struck by a car in the southbound lane, Denver chief deputy coroner Michelle Weiss-Samaras reported today.

He was pronounced dead at Denver Health Medical Center at 4:06 a.m.
