About 10,000 people were without power in the metro area for about an hour this afternoon.
At 2:30 p.m., the power went out in several neighborhoods in Denver, Aurora and Commerce City, said Michelle Aguayo, a spokeswoman for Xcel Energy.
Officials are investigating the cause of the power outage.
Power was restored within the hour.
