A small kitchen fire in southwest Denver sent one person to the hospital this morning.
At about 8 a.m., firefighters were called to 49 Alcott Street on a report of a structure fire, said Lt. Phil Champagne, spokesman for the Denver Fire Department.
A small kitchen fire had spread into the walls and attic of the home, Champagne said.
Firefighters were able to isolate the fire and extinguish it quickly.
Two people were checked out for smoke inhalation at the scene, one of which had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
