As temperatures fell into the 30s Monday night, about 40 members of Occupy Denver stood in a circle and debated blind trust, group leadership and group representation in their dealings with the mayor’s office about their ongoing protest on park grounds.

There seemed to be no end in sight and no lack of fight in the protesters Monday in Civic Center.

About two dozen people tried to sleep on the sidewalk on the west side of Broadway between Colfax and 14th avenues under layers of blankets, as three people solicited honks from passing motorists in support of the anti-greed movement.

The National Weather Service said the overnight low was expected to be close to the freezing mark in the city.

Earlier in the day, protesters braved light drizzle and cool winds.

“Day by day,” said 27-year-old Peter Brandt, noting he has been with Occupy Denver since the start.

Mike Seymour, 45, said the group could bear the chill in the name of the cause.
