Venture-capital investments in Colorado companies fell 24 percent during the third quarter but showed strong growth over the same period in 2010, according to the MoneyTree report by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association.
There were 24 venture-capital deals in the state worth $157 million during the quarter. That compares with 23 deals worth $208 million during the second quarter and 21 deals worth $94 million during the year-ago quarter.
So far this year, venture-capital investments in Colorado are at the highest level since 2008. Clean tech was the biggest recipient, while biotech lagged.
