A 20-year-old Army Ranger from Colorado Springs was among three soldiers killed by an improvised explosive device Saturday in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province.
Pfc. Christopher A. Horns was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, based in Tacoma, Wash.
He was killed with fellow Ranger Sgt. 1st Class Kristoffer B. Domeij, 29, of San Diego, and a North Carolina National Guardsman, Lt. Ashley I. White, 24.
Horns enlisted in July 2010 and became a Ranger in March. He was an assistant machine gunner and automatic rifleman, serving his first deployment, according to the Department of Defense.
He is survived by his parents, Larry and Tamara Horns, and a sister, Tiffany Horns, all of Colorado Springs.
