Denver voters are being encouraged to hand-deliver their ballots at one of the eight service centers scattered throughout the city to be counted in Tuesday’s election.
Through Wednesday, nearly 50,000 ballots had been returned — or roughly 17 percent of the 292,886 ballots that were sent to Denver voters.
Denver voters will be casting votes for three school-board seats, a citywide initiative to mandate paid sick leave for workers, a change to the city charter to allow the auditor a deputy, and a statewide tax proposal to fund education.
Eight service centers that will be accepting ballots through Tuesday are: Denver Elections Division, 200 W. 14th Ave.; Christ Community Church, 8085 E. Hampden Ave.; Harvey Park Recreation Center, 2120 S. Tennyson Way; Hiawatha Davis Jr. Recreation Center, 3334 N. Holly St.; Montbello Recreation Center, 15555 E. 53rd Ave.; Montclair Recreation Center, 729 N. Ulster Way; Scheitler Recreation Center, 5031 W. 46th Ave.; and Washington Park Recreation Center, 701 S. Franklin St.
