INDIANAPOLIS — Sugarland delivered a rousing show Friday night to a packed house of fans — some of whom were injured in a stage collapse that killed seven people at the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 13, just before the country duo was set to perform.

Singer Jennifer Nettles opened the free 2½-hour show at Conseco Fieldhouse Indianapolis by telling the audience they were in store for an emotional night that also would be part celebration.

“Obviously, the stage is different, you are different and we are different. We are all changed by what happened then,” she said, referring to the tragedy brought on by high winds. “But we are going to try to give you the best show that we can and to celebrate healing with you and to celebrate life and music with you here tonight.”
