Frank and Jenny Cole’s morning was interrupted when cloud of bright purple, red and orange descended on their quiet Littleton neighborhood.
Around 8:30 a.m. today, a hot air balloon made what appeared to be a routine landing in the Vintage Reserve subdivision near Littleton, said Frank Cole, who lives in the neighborhood.
As the balloon approached, Cole’s wife, Jenny Cole, captured the landing on an iPhone. The balloon slowly made its way to a nearby park where almost a dozen residents met it.
“You could hear the whoosh of the propane tanks,” Frank Cole said. “It was amazing. It was as big as a house.”
The balloon has made the landing in the neighborhood twice in two weeks, Cole said.
Cole did not know what company the balloon belonged to.
“Everyone helped them fold the balloon up, put it in a big bag and then they carried it away,” Cole said.
