DENVER—The Denver medical examiner’s office hasn’t been able to determine how a woman who disappeared after leaving a Denver nightclub died, but it says asphyxia, strangulation or suffocation haven’t been ruled out.

Nineteen-year-old Kenia Monge (mon-hey) was reported missing April 1. Police found her body Sept. 7, about 40 miles from Denver.

Thirty-one-year-old Travis Forbes led authorities to her body. He is serving a life sentence after pleading guilty in September to first-degree murder in Monge’s death and to attempted first-degree murder for an attack on a Fort Collins woman. Forbes had said he strangled Monge.

An autopsy report released Tuesday rules the manner of death a homicide but says the cause is undetermined.
